Global Peace Bridges, Brooklyn, London, Toronto, DC, March 8

To honor the women survivors of war, Women For Women International has created this worldwide campaign on International Women's Day.

Women from Congo and Rwanda will meet on a bridge between their countries to demand an end to war.  Likewise, people all over the world are coming together on other bridges to support this action of peace.

The organization CARE offers a new way to celebrate International Women's Day. Movie theatres across the US and Canada will be holding a special interacive event inspired by the New York Times bestseller, Half the Sky, written by Times columnist Nicolas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn.  It's a rebroadcast of an event that happened in New York a few weeks ago.
