Both Green Parties in the US and Canada are running women Candidates. How does that affect their plaforms or appeal to women?

PM Stephen Harper has made campaign noises about extending Maternity leaves to the Self-employed. Can it happen?

Canada has pretty decent maternity leaves--especially when compared to its southern neighbor.  However, self employed women (including doctors) have not been included in this largesse. It's a real hardship.

Should we allow the self-employed to pay into unemployment?  What's the benefit?  And will Canada really be able to afford it?

The National Interactive Sarah Palin Report Card: Here's your chance to Grade Palin.

Sarah Palin was put on the ticket to attract women voters.  She is billed as EveryWoman.

But does she really represent us?

What do American women really think of her?

What can you say about Sarah Palin--without talking gender, motherhood, feminism, hunting, abortion, teen pregnancy etc??

Last week, Sarah Palin did a McCain long-jump onto the national stage.

That means Governor Palin is potentially tens of millions of votes and one heartattack away from becoming our first woman president.

Sarah Palin is called a bad mother for accepting the VP spot. Are we entering a feminist dark age?

Sarah Palin is called a bad mother for accepting the VP spot. Are we entering a feminist dark age that women cannot be both strong career women and good mothers? Is our view of motherhood still so traditional that we cannot be good role models or good women by succeeding and following our convictions or is that only a man's prerogative?
