Running for office is like having a Baby--women just want to do it despite the hassles

Women keep on having babies. Despite the fact that their earning powerwill go way down.  Despite the fact that their sleep cycles will beruined.  Despite that they will still do a large part of the childcare--fromtucking in to taking them cleat shopping.  We're just compelledsomehow--for the beautiful and powerful feeling of being a mother.

It seems that women may soon acquire the same irrational compulsion toenter politics.  A Lifetime Every Woman Counts survey released this week, confirmed that women realize that they are not treated equally when running foroffice.  More than 2/3 of women polled knew they were less likely to betaken seriously by voters and the media.  Women thought too much focus wasspent on Palin's and Clinton's wardrobes (79% and 44% respectively).

Despite those drawbacks, about nine out of 10 women thought thiselection cycle would encourage more women and make them more likely for them toenter politics.  And 86% said that having Palin and Clinton in thishistoric campaign would interest more young women to enter politics. (Those who feel their wardrobes are up for the scrutiny).

For women to be in take part in society's decision making--must be a beautiful and powerful

feeling that we will do increasingly, despite the difficulty.
