relevance of sweetie

Yes, of course, there are more important things.  Worse things.  I'm also concerned about them, as is Senator Obama.  That's why so many people are behind him.  But in this election when all behaviors are scrutinized, it does seem of minor relevance to point out that way of speaking to women which many would find condescending. A way of addressing people that could be seen as infantalizing them. If he's  courting the woman's vote, he can avoid the sweet-talking, and just give us the issues.
