Sarah Palin's Values are Black Values: Pro-God, Pro-Life and Pro-Family

"So what's a Black woman like you doing supporting a white girl like Sarah Palin?” a radio interviewer once asked me--opening the door for me to talk about the issue of race--which needs to be discussed.

Is there pressure on a Black woman from New York who supports  Governor Palin and has Palin stickers on her car? You betcha! In this age of Obama-mania how do I handle that kind of pressure? It's not always easy because above all else, Black people are loyal--to their own.

I am seen, no doubt, by some, as a sell-out, a traitor, a misguided soul. I can handle it because I know what matters. I will never grant my support or cast my vote based on color or gender. I do what I do based on principle--and Governor Palin's principles are what we need in America--including the Black community; they're for all people, of all ages, in all parts of the nation. The vast majority of Black people have pro-God, pro-life, and pro-family values. This comes as a result of our spiritual heritage. So many Black people claim God as their source. In light of this, we must come to understand that the government cannot be what we look to for hope, but to that God we claim. We must also understand that He has made us victors, not the victims the Left makes us out to be in their effort to secure our votes. This message is the conservative message that our community needs. It's also Governor Palin’s  message. Black people just need to hear someone articulate it--and Palin is the one who can articulate that message.

I don't pretend to know everything about Governor Palin, but I know she is what America needs.  She ran her state well. People are drawn to her because she stands for core common sense values and they can relate to her.  Her work ethic is enviable. She loves and supports our military. She has fought for energy independance which is needed to use our God-given resources and to keep America secure.  Palin believes in less government intrusion and abhors wasteful spending, understanding that spending more money is no way to recover from debt.  This mother loves our children yet to be born and doesn't want to see us pass on to them the problems they had no hand in creating. She supports the Constitution and freedom. Governor Palin is an advocate for individuals with special needs. She believes in leading with a servant's heart. I know she understands how to say "no" to tempting offers that are not in the best interest of people, like so-called stimulus funds with chains attached. Palin is bold as a lion and unafraid to speak out and stand up. She sees value and the hand of God in every single life, for she is hard-core pro-life. The Governor loves her children and honors her husband. Palin loves her state and her nation.  She loves her God and seeks His direction. The conclusion of the matter is that I know that I know that I know that Governor Palin is the leader America is crying out for.

The left shouldn’t underestimate me and people like me-- yes, even Black people who are smart enough and are wise enough to come alive enough to vote based on principles and values. They take us--Americans--for fools, but we are not fools, and we will not allow them to play an "us vs them" game the NEXT time as they try to convince us of an "us vs them" agenda on the part of Governor Palin, an agenda that simply does not exist.

People often discount her small-town upbringing in Wasilla, Alaska as insignificant and backwoods. Let me tell you, I spent a month in Alaska and most of that time in Wasilla, where this American--who happens to be Black--was treated like a princess by some of Governor Palin’s own family and friends. I was welcomed, befriended, housed, fed, and loved--in Wasilla, Alaska.

This, everyone, is the America in which Govenor Palin was made. It's the same America that you grew up in and I grew up in. It's not "us vs them." It's just "US"--all of us. Palin believes in one America, and that's the America she stands up for. Let's stand with her!

Why do I support Governor Palin? The bottom line: I'm pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, and pro-country. Therefore, I'm pro-Palin. It's as simple as white...and yes...black!
