Women's eNews has created a walking tour of downtown New York called Opening the Way: Downtown Women’s History Walk.  The tour will tell the stories of writers, agitators, abolitionists, suffragists, activists and even heroes of 9/11--featuring the birth-control advocate Margaret Sanger, suffragists Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Nellie Bly of the New York World, Margaret Fuller of the New-York Tribune, the abolitionist Sojourner Truth, etc.

The tour was created by Betsy Wade, a former New York Times editor and reporter, and   James Boylan,  a founder of the Columbia Journalism Review and a historian of the Progressive era.
